Albert Oser took part in Operation Tidal Wave, the raid on the Ploesti oil fields, Rumania, on 1 August 1943, flying on B-24 Liberator "First Sergeant" / "Thar She Blows" #42-40127.

He was Tail Gunner on B-24D #42-41004 “The Urgin' Virgin” which was lost in the North Sea on the 13 November 1943 mission to Bremen, Germany, with all 11 men onboard still missing. Killed In Action (KIA).
