MilitaryAssigned to 410BS, 94BG, 8AF USAAF. Erickson crew. 6 x combat mission. Failed to Return (FTR) on mission to Bordeaux, France in B-17 42-30200 "Slo-Time Sally". Seriously wounded in abdomen by fighter attacks, he was put into his chute and assisted to bail out. Fellow crew members heard him say he would be able to open his parachute and it seems he was not able to. His body was found by the Germans. Killed in Action (KIA). Missing Air Crew Report - MACR 1892.
