Assigned to the 547th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), per AAF Station 106 Special Orders #38 dated 28 June 1943.  Placed on Temporary Duty for seven days to American Red Cross, Southport on or about 5 September 1943 per AAF Station 106 Special Orders #89 dated 4 September 1943.  Ditched, and entire crew rescued on 1 December 1943 mission to Solingen, Germany; no MACR.  Completed his 25th operational mission on 22 December (sic) and departed for the USA on 29 December 1943, per squadron history (microfilm A0641-00198).
