According to David Greene, navigator, this photo was taken at Biggs Army Air Base, El Paso , TX., on March 29th, 1944 while in the process of forming the combat crew. Standing, left to right, David Greene, John Bonifant cp, Norbert Wick p, Roger Knierim left-waist gunner. Kneeling in front of Knierim is Palmer Taylor radio operator. The other two men did not serve with the crew in England Roger Freeman Collection

Entered service at Ft. Niagara, New York on 12 November 1942.  Assigned to 579th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), 392nd Bombardment Group (Heavy) in May 1944.  Flew 32 combat missions between 16 July 1944 and 4 November 1944.  Rank at the end of WWII was 1st Lt.
