Entered service at New York City, NY on 30 December 1942. Joined 579th Bomb Squadron, 392nd Bomb Group on 1 June 1944. Then Flight Officer and later 2nd Lt David A. Greene flew 22 combat missions with 1st Lt Norbert J. Wick's crew and nine additional missions with other crews. Rank at retirement from service was Lt. Col.
Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters.
