Kenneth E Robinson
Military ROLL OF HONOURARowe95
Bombardier, Hudson crew. 381st BG, 533rd BS. Shot down 17 August 1943 in B-17 #42-3092 'Strato Sam'. Mission #20 "Black Tuesday" to the ball bearing works at Schweinfurt. MACR 399. Killed in Action (KIA).
2Lt Robinson accidentally released his chute inside of the plane. In an attempt to bail out, he threw the parachute out of the escape door. The chute caught the slipstream and pinned him against the inside of the nose. 2Lt Robinson was unable to move or release his harness. He refused a second parachute and then no longer responded to crew members due to his injuries. 2Lt Kenneth Robinson crashed with the aircraft. The Germans interred him at the Cemetery of the People near the front gate. He was later re-interred in the Ardennes AMC.
