Military ROLL OF HONOUR

On 8 Nov 1942 B-17F #41-24570 "Panhandle Doggie" suffered severe damage on mission to bomb the German airfield Drucat at Abbeville, France. Aircraft returned to base with all crew and was salvaged. S/Sgt Odegard was serving as Left Waist Gunner on this aircraft. The Navigator and Bombardier were wounded. 10RTD.



Killed in action 3 January 1943 in B-17F #42-5084 'Panhandle Doggie II' while serving as Left Waist Gunner. Aircraft took a direct hit from flak over the target of St. Nazaire, France and crashed into the sea near the Ile de Noirmoutier, France.
