2nd Lt Irwin Roth born 1916 from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania enlisted in Pittsburgh 1940 and served as a co-pilot with the 860th Bomb Squadron of the 493rd Bomb Group, flying bombing missions out of Debach, England. On 20 February 1945, he was Killed in Action (KIA) when B-17 43-38568 crashed in the River Deben at Ramsholt, Suffolk. He is buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Nr Cambridge, England - Plot g Row 5 Grave 155.
