Military ROLL OF HONOURNavigator. Deering crew. 381st BG, 533rd BS, 8th AF. Shot down by fighters on mission #62 to Brunswick, Germany on 30 Jan 1944 in B-17G #42-31047 'Wolverine'. MACR 2243. Lt Barer could not bail out due to a stuck escape hatch and the aircraft exploded. Killed in Action (KIA). Originally buried by the Germans in the Ottbergen Cemetery. Reinterred in the Netherlands AMC.
