384th Bomb Group Purple Heart Recipients: Standing L-R: Judson L. Dacus, William Russell Harry, Ivan Luther Rice, Edmund S. Goulder. Kneeling L-R: Charles C. Carlin, Bruce T. Haley, Wilbert Y K Yee. William Harry (546th) and Ivan Rice (546th) were wounded on 30 July 1943 flying 42-5848 "Patches". They made it home, but the aircraft was shot up so badly it would be scrapped. Ed Goulder (547th) was wounded on 16 August 1943 on 42-5849 "Hell's Belles II". Carlin (546th) and Yee (546th) were wounded on the 17 August 1943 Schweinfurt mission on 42-30196 "Sad Sack" with the James Armstrong Crew. Dacus (547th) was wounded on 16 August 1943 on 42-5843 “Black Ghost" with the Pulcipher Crew. Haley (547th) was wounded on 12 August 1943 on 42-29768 "Winsome Winn II" with the Willing Crew.

Shot down 14 October 1943 in B-17 #42-29800 'Me and My Gal'. Prisoner of War (POW). Stayed in the Air Force after the war and served in Korea. He ended his military career as a Lt Colonel in the USAF.
