Roy Emmett Deadman

Roy Deadman was Assistant Foreign Editor of the Chicago Times in 1940. He was residing in Madison County, Indiana when he enlisted in Chicago, Illinois, on November 25, 1940 as an Aviation cadet. After the war, he changed his name to Emmett Dedmon and pursued a career in journalism, working mostly for the Chicago Sun-Times and later the Chicago Daily News.
He wrote "Duty To Live", a book about his war experiences, published in 1946 by Houghton-Mifflin.
