Shot down 9 April 1944 in B-24 #42-52432. Landed in parachute near Venslev, East of Skælskør, Denmark. Evaded capture. Went to Copenhagen by taxi, stayed hidden there until departure by boat on 17 April to Malmö, Sweden. Contacted diplomatic corps and was back in the UK on 26 April 1944.
