MilitaryConnected up to airmen's records from information in the caption.
Lieutenant Robert Kern Potter commanded a Fort in the 351st BG out of Polebrook. He and his crew arrived in December of 1944. Together they flew 33 missions. Like most he piloted a number of different Forts until he had a regular one assigned, a B-17G , which he named "Portland Rose" as a tribute to his home town. He also flew an RB-26 recon plane in Korea beginning in March of 1952.

His son, 351st. BG archive, 8th AF archive, pilots log. There is at least one discrepancy with this data base and that of the 351st and my father's log. For instance on 3/21/1945 his records and those of the 351st show then attacking Hopsten for which there is no record in this database. There are a couple of other examples of missions not shown in this database.
