Military

Kee Harrison was Pilot of B-17 #42-3190, shot down 14 July 1943 over France. He evaded capture with the help of French citizens and members of the French Résistance and was fed, sheltered, clothed and transported all the way to Gibraltar. After having crash-landed the Fortress in Berengeville-la-Campagne, five miles NE of Evreux, France, he was sheltered in a farm in the nearby village of Feuguerolles before being led to Paris, Foix, Vierzon and Toulouse across France. Guided to Andorra, he entered Spain on 28 August 1943. After reaching Barcelona and the British Consulate there, he was taken in charge by the US diplomatic corps and driven to Madrid, ultimately reaching Gibraltar on 13 September. After interrogation, he was flown back to England on 16 September 1943, landing the same day in Prestwick, rejoining his Unit a few days later. Evaded (EVD). Kee Harrison ended his military career as a Major in the USAF.
