This letter from Lyle Norquist to his brother Stan was published in The Globe-Gazette (Mason City, Iowa), 26 Jun 1944, p. 11, after Lyle was listed as MIA. It describes a harrowing experience of nearly being shot down on a previous B-17 mission before he was KIA on "Queen of the Air" on 27 May 1944 (his family was notified of his death in September 1944).
