Capt. James Stewart, Commanding Officer, 703rd Bomb Squadron, 445th Bomb Group, Tibenham, 1943-1944. Stewart was about to be medically declared unfit for flying duty when he was assigned to the 445th Bomb Group's 703rd Bomb Squadron as their operations officer. Just over two weeks later Stewart was named the 703rd Squadron Commander. He flew 10 missions with the 445th; his last on 22 Mar 44. Shortly after that he was reassigned to the 453rd Bomb Group as their Group Operations Officer.
