Detailed History

In the churchyard is a memorial to the 44th Bomb Group, the Flying Eightballs. Inside an American flag is displayed, which had been flown over the US Capitol building on 12 August 1987 for the members of the Shipdham branch of the Royal British Legion, from the "Eightballs of the 44th."
