William Oakes Antonides
MilitaryLt Antonides, who came from Glenwood Springs, Colorado, was assigned to the 334th Squadron, 4th Fighter Group in February 1945. He took part in twenty two missions during his time at Debden, accounting for a total of seven enemy aircraft destroyed on the ground - five in one day!
With the air war rapidly coming to a close, he did not get any more chances of combat, and was transferred to the 10th Air Depot.
