Men in the Squadron are quick in acquiring pets, some of which are designated squadron mascots. (Left to right) Private Walter E Kelly, Chicago, Ill, T/Sgt ME Shank, Dayton, Ohio, Private F Carpole, Brooklyn, New York and S.Sgt James M Marcus, also of Brooklyn, display an assortment of livestock bought at the Garden Fete auction. The duck is "Windy", the goat "Rose Bud", the small dog "Salvo" and the larger dog "Flak". There were two ducks and a rooster; the boys got hungry one night- ate the rooster and one of the ducks.'
