Fell from the bomb bay into the North Sea while trying to release bombs on the return from a mission on 3 Feb in B-17G #42-31509 'Twinkle Toes'. Killed in Action (KIA).

He is commemorated on the Tablets of the Missing at Netherlands American Cemetery.
