Thompson McFarland Blalock
MilitaryTom Blalock was of Native American heritage. He enlisted in 1942 and served with the 303rd Bomb Group as a Airplane Handler and later transferred to the 306th Bomb Group where he worked as a Chaplain's assistant. While stationed at Thurleigh c.1944 he met Cicely Mary Source, whom he married in 1945. The couple settled in Blalock's hometown of Misawaka, Indiana following the war, and Blalock trained as a hairdresser under the GI Bill. In the 1950s they returned to the UK, and eventually emigrated to Australia in the 1960s. By the 1980s Cicely and Tom had again returned to the UK, settling in Fulham, where Tom died in 1985.
