Missing in Action (MIA) Shot down by flak and crashed at Falaise on 8/8/44 in B-17 42-97394.



8 Aug 1944. Tail shot off plane by flak. Landed within friendly lines and entire crew; with the exception of Sergeant Charles Simons, Tail Gunner who was blown out of the tail and was reported Missing in Action (MIA); landed safely and have returned to base.
