Richard Baden Thorp
MilitaryLeading Aircraftman, 1430150. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Age 19. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Redvers Baden Thorp, of Wednesbury, Staffordshire, England.
He was a British Cadet at Riddle Field, Clewiston, and was killed in a plane crash early Friday morning, July 16 1942, some 15 miles northeast of Venus adjacent to highway US 27 and west of Lake Okeechobee. Richard, aged 19, was an advanced student pilot born in Wednesbury, Stafford, England.
