Shot down by flak and crashed near Pont-Audemer, France in B-17G #42-31380 on 8 February 1944. The crew baled out prior to the crash. Evaded (EVD). Sheltered, clothed, fed and transported by French citizens and members of the Résistance. Was brought back to England in a British Motor Torpedo Boat from a Brittany port on 16-17 March 1944.
