TSgt Mark Weber from the 389th Bomb Group in Britain was temporarily attached (TDY) to the 9th Air Force, and the 98th bomb Group for the raid on Ploesti, Romania, in the B-24D, Snake Eyes, piloted by Lt. Hilary M. Blevins, and his copilot, Lt. James E. O'Grady. 1 Aug 43. They crash landed on the island of Sicily. 29 Jul 1943.

Says it flew in North Africa with Benny and was eventually assigned to 389th as a hack and later as a form-up ship. He thinks it was originally with another group (possibly 376th or 98th).' Handwritten caption on reverse: '389th BG Form-up ship.'
