Loyd B Slimp Jr
MilitaryCaptain Loyd B. Slimp was a B-17 pilot in the 305th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force. While piloting a B-17 on a mission over Germany, on January 10, 1945, Loyd was shot down and crash-landed in Belgium. Post-war Loyd became Treasurer of the 305th BGMA. He continued to serve his country as an officer in the 36th Division of the Texas National Guard until a critical injury forced his retirement in 1969. Capt Slimp passed away on 3 May 2007, at age 87.
