Lester E Gentry

Military ROLL OF HONOUR

Lester Gentry was Bombardier on B-24 #42-7484, shot down over Belgium on return from the Frankfurt mission on 29 January 1944. According to crew members reports, it seems Lester and Navigator Ronald Lindlow, last on board, were preparing to bail out when the plane spiraled down and exploded. Two bodies were found in the wreckage and were buried at the Evere-Brussels English Military Cemetery on 1 February 1944. Only the remains of Lindlow were identified later and brought back to the USA. Killed in Action (KIA). Lester Gentry is still listed as Missing In Action (MIA).
