All the crew except Lennox and the co-pilot bailed out and were captured. They were able to return to base where the a/c was repaired, but never flew combat again. Lennox picked up a new crew and finished his tour
Died	Fort Worth, TX	18 December 2012	Leslie A. Lennox Jr., 89, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Leslie was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Waterbury, Conn. He was raised in Pubnico/Lower Argyle, Nova Scotia, Canada, returning to the U.S. in 1942 to join the Army Air Corps. Soon after, he met his future wife, Marjorie, the love of his life. After attending Officer Candidate School, he was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force where he earned his wings. As a World War II pilot, he proudly flew 35 missions in the European theater. In his military career, he was fortunate to fly the B-17, B-24, B-25, B-36, and B-52, among others. Les and Marge embarked on the journey of a lifetime, traveling the world, raising five children and making it their life mission to instill in them a foundation of integrity, inspiring a love of family, a love of country and a love of learning. Leslie retired from the U.S. Air Force at Carswell AFB where he and Marge continued to raise the family. He lived a wonderful life. Son, Steven Kent Lennox; and his wife of 66 years, Marjorie Gertrude Lennox, preceded him in death. Survivors: Children, Judith (Frank) Sabatini, Scott Lennox, Christy Lennox, and Cindy (Butch) Allen; grandchildren, James Hopson, Andrea (Trent) Grens and Trad (Ashley) Blaha; and great-grandchildren, Ashton and Teagan Blaha, and Christian and Kiefer Grens.
