I'm the nephew of T/Sgt. L.H. White. I have his U.S. military Deceased Personnel File and other documentation that establishes that L.H. and eight comrades aboard Jerk's Natural (41-23711) died in an attempted landing outside Heilbrunn, Austria, and were buried in the parish cemetery of Heilbrunn. An American Graves Registration Service team exhumed nine sets of remains from the Heilbrunn cemetery on 23 August 1946, and on 9 September 1946 U.S. soldiers removed the remains from Heilbrunn and transported them to France. The remains were temporarily interred as Unknown X-7611 at the U.S. military cemetery at St. Avold, France, pending identification. On 29 September 1949, the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps' Memorial Division approved the finding of the American Graves Registration Command that the remains in St. Avold grave Unknown X-7611 were those of the pilot William F. Stein and eight crew members, including L.H. White. On 13 March 1950, the remains of the nine men were interred in a group grave at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County, Missouri.
