Bombardier Gagliano flew 30 missions with 322nd Sqdn 91st BG from November 1943 to June 1944 and was awarded a DFC, Air Medal and Presidential Unit Citation.



Post war he joined the Memphis Police Dept and, at the time of his death in 1979, was Police Chief of Germantown, Memphis.
