Joined Sqd 6/19/43. DS/Bengahzi 6/26/43. Returned to base 8/26/43. DS/Tunis 9/16/43. WIA 10/1/43 (Wiener-Neustadt). Returned to base via ATC 10/4/43. Went into Hospital. Rejoined Sqd 1/15/44. Prisoner of War (POW) 4/8/44 (Brunswick). Returned to base 5/8/45. Pilot: Townsend.



Shot down 8 April 1944 in B-24 42-109822 'Townsend's Terrible Ten. ' Prisoner of War.



Earlier on October 1, 1943, when the crew was TDY to the 9th AAC, on a mission to Weiner Neustadt, 41-24009 'Margaret Ann' was attacked by flak and fighters. Losing #1 radio and hydrolic systems. Pilot Kessler landed at a Canadian base outside of Bari, Italy. Spent a few days at the base working on the plane. Returned to England. Nosal was wounded in the attacks.



Nosal was also a veteran of the 1 August 1943 Ploesti raid.
