A Flight Engineer with the 401st Sqdn., 91st BG, Gawley completed 30 missions. His pilot credited him with enabling the plane to return to base many times, dealing with severed fuel lines and damaged hydraulics.



Post war Gawley worked for Shell Oil and was for twelve years Plant Engineer for Marlboro' Municipal Authority.
