Died Killed in Action (KIA) |
Bernberg, Gummersbach, Germany | 7 July 1944 - 7 July 1944 | 2Lt. Robert Darnall corrected this man's assignment from Flight Engineer to Radio Operator. "I pushed the Sgt. ahead of me into the Bombbay. He was working the door lever but doors would not open.... I believe he was killed as the ship exploded. If he had been blown clear he would have landed near me as we were only about 1,000' above the ground when the ship exploded." |
