Mid air collision with Capt. Clair W. DesVoignes ( flying a P-38J ) 55th FG / 38th FS .Crashed at Waasmunster, Belgium 13 July 1944, the body was found at the water's edge of Durme river near the village Waasmunster on 13 may 1945!
He grow up on the family ranch outside Sandpoint in Sunnyside with a view of the Idaho's largest lake " Pend Oreille ".
He drove to California with his brother in law Wayne to see about building aircraft. They decided that instead of building aircraft they would learn to fly. They both enlisted and went to the flight school of " Geiger Field " Washington as student pilot.
He was called to active duty March 6th 1943.
