This crew member was found unconscious leaning out of his turret at 1205 hours, just past the IP. He then either suffered a fatal heart attack or died from anoxia. He was flying this mission to Castrop-Rauxel on 1st Lt. B.L. Holliday's crew aboard B-24J Model #42-50650, Call Letter "E." S/Sgt Negus is interred in Golden Gate National Cemetery, Section C Site 230.
* Note: The log of navigator 1/Lt McCutcheon states that S/Sgt Negus died of anoxia (a condition in which there is an absence of oxygen supply to an organ's tissues although there is adequate blood flow to the tissue).
