George F Brown Jr
Military ROLL OF HONOURKilled in Action (KIA) near Wipperfurth in B-24 'Tinker Belle' 44-40158. According to US trial document 12-765 (US vs. Christian MENRATH et al.) he was killed while prisoner of war by two Nazi party officials. The condemned were hanged at Landsberg/Lech, Germany, on 5 December 1947. It is awkward, however, that the trial document says the murder was committed "on or about 29 March, 1945" while 'Tinker Belle' did not crash until April 5.
