Montgomery, IL, USA 13 December 2001 1921 - 2001 George A. Burke, 80, of Montgomery, IL passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2001. He was born on April 8, 1921 in Dixon, IL the son of the late Charles and Gertrude Burke. George retired from Nicor in 1984 after 38 years as manager of Revenue Accounts. He served in WWII with the 8th Air Force as a 1st Lt. and Navigator, stationed in England. He was a long time member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Good Counsel, the Knights of Columbus, the Tiger Club and the Third Ward Club. He is survived by his wife of 54 years,, Jovita (Prindaville); four daughters, Sue (John) Stirnaman of Alton, IL, Colleen (Michael) Barry of Aurora, IL, Fran (Jerry) Nicklas of North Aurora, IL and Kathy (Steve) Wozny of Elmhurst, IL; three sons, Patrick (Pattie) Burke of Montgomery, IL, Kevin Burke of North Aurora, IL and William Burke of Oswego, IL; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Clara) Burke of Lee Center, IL; and a sister, Mary Lou Joyce of Dixon, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Burke; two brothers, Charles Burke and James (late Gertie) Burke; a sister-in-law, Velma Burke.
