Lt. Adolph .P. Miller's B-17 "Dear Becky" was shot down on 26 November 1944 on a mission to bomb a railroad viaduct near Altenbeken, Germany. Lt. Miller was a POW at Stalag Luft I for the remainder of the war. Lt. Bottomley was also a POW until the end of the war in May 1945. A pilot with 324 Sqdn 91st BG 'Ragged Irregulars' Beasley flew 27 missions with the Group and was awarded the Silver Star and DFC. He piloted B-17 42-38128 "Dear Becky".



On the mission of 8th September 1944 to Ludwigshaven he was badly wounded but managed to get the plane back to base with the use of only one arm.



After the war he was general Manager of Jeppeson & Co. of Colorado Springs.
