Shot down over Paris on 4 Jul 1944. B-24H A/C #42-95317. 2 Killed in Action (KIA), 1 Prisoner of War (POW), 5 Evaded (EVD). T/O Harrington 2325 HRS, 4 July, shot down by ME110 south of Paris and crashed 0118 hrs, 30 miles SE of Chartres (Autry-sur-Juine). No. 2 engine knocked out and bomb bay enveloped in flames. S/Sergeant Syra killed in initial fighter attack.
