SSgt. Daniel Butler was on TDY to the 9th Air Force, flying in the B-24, 41-23754, Little Lady, on Operation Tidal Wave to Ploesti. He and his crew were interned in Turkey after the Ploesti mission along with the Little Lady. 1 Aug, 1943
After being released from internment and RTS, Sgt. Butler was shot down in the B-24, 42-100248, Bar Fly, and was Killed In Action - KIA. 1 April 1944
