B-24J 42-50505/E took off, with a crew of 9, from Hardwick, England on a bombing mission over Madgeburg, Germany. Right after they flew over the Dutch coast they were hit in the area of their #2 engine by ground anti-aircraft fire. Seven parachutes were seen leaving the B-24 before it was also seen to crash in the Netherlands. Two members of the crew were lost in the crash.
