Alfred Holt was Engineer / Top Turret Gunner on B-17 # 42-97188 of 384th Bomb Group / 544th Bomb Squadron. Bailing out of the Fortress, he landed near Voves and, helped by French citizens, he was ultimately brought to the secret camp in the Forêt de Fréteval, near Châteaudun, where hidden from May 1944 until liberation by Armored troops of the US Army on 13 August 1944.
