Alexander Donaldson was a Waist Gunner in the 381st Bomb Group/533rd Bomb Squadron. Shot down on 8th mission 10 September 1944 in B-24 #44-6095 "Fort Worth Gal". Interned at Stalag Luft IV, Gross Tychow (Tychowo) Poland. Prisoner of War (POW) #3207. "In February 1945 when Russian troops were nearing the camp, the Germans forced marched us for about 3 months, for 500 - 600 miles, then turned us over to Patton's 3rd Army near Halle, Germany on 26 April 1945." Awarded the Air Medal and the POW Medal.
