Assigned to the 544th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), per AAF Station 106 Special Orders #59 dated 31 July 1943.  Mechanical fault in B-17 #4231274 'Sea Hag'; 15 mins over France #1 prop ran away, threw chunks of cowling, and caught on fire; ditched in English Channel at 1125 hrs; nine crew picked up, one missing; Sgt. Gregori Killed in Action (KIA)/Missing in Action (MIA)   MACR 1768
