VIII Fighter Command TRAINING OPERATION
17 November 1943Description
This operation was a training flight made with three other P-47s from 56FG over the North Sea. One aircraft Failed to Return (FTR) 1KNO having disappeared after entering a could bank over the North Sea. Believed to have crashed in the sea off of Happisburgh, Norfolk. No MACR issued. Pilot never recovered.
