Notes: 38 P-38s from 55th Fighter Group bomb Amiens/Glisy German airfield then join in escort of bomber groups on withdrawal.

AMIENS/NANCY/DIJON

Description: FIGHTER ESCORT

Notes: A mix of 719 fighters from 8th Air Force & 9th Air Force provide escort; 177 P-38s, 296 P-47s and 246 P-51s. IX Fighter Command contributes 88 aircraft. Claims are bundled and include 29-7-42 on the ground. Only two aircraft were lost from 453rd Fighter Group IX Fighter Command and are not included in the table.
