IMAGEGene W. Minton's crew with the 708th Bomb Squadron with the 44th Bomb Group (heavy) Rattlesden, Norfolk UK. Gene was moved from his regular crew to break in a new pilot on 5/24/1944 on a mission to bomb Berlin. The pilot lost control of the B-17 and crashed into the North Sea. This photo is on display at the Rio Grande Valley Wing of the Commerative Air Force Museum - Brownsville, Tx. along with his Purple Heart medal.
