Markings & paint scheme: Natural Metal Finish. On top of the right wing there was a black circle (indicating the 2nd Air Division) with a centered silver "F" (indicating the 445th Bomb Group). The outer faces of the vertical stabilizers were black with a centered horizontal white stripe (also indicating the 445th BG). The radio call letter (RCL), in black, was centered in the white stripe. The tail number "410525" was in black toward the top of the inner face of the vertical stabilizer. The squadron code & RCL were on both sides of the fuselage, near the gunners' windows, in black. The name "The Bad Penny" & the image of a partially clad sitting woman were on the nose. The aircraft was initially assigned to the 701st Bomb Sqn as MK-H+. It later transferred to the 700th Bomb Sqn as IS-A+.

B-24J-60-CF, "The Bad Penny". Assigned to the 445th Bomb Group at Tibenham (USAAF Station 124), England. Initially assigned to the 701st Bomb Squadron as MK-H+, later transferred to the 700th Bomb Squadron as IS-A+. On 22 May 1944, while returning to the U.S., the aircraft made a forced landing 4 miles southeast of Port-au-Choix, Newfoundland when the pilot believed that the fuel was almost exhausted. All of the crew survived but the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
