On a mission to Munich on 11 Aug 1944 (445th BG mission # 122) the aircraft developed an oil leak in the #1 engine enroute to the target & was feathered. After bombing the target, the #2 engine failed & the aircraft could not maintain altitude or remain with the formation. Over Belgium the bomber was struck by flak. The pilot made a forced landing at Orcq, 3 km west of Tournai, Belgium. All crewmembers survived, 8 were captured & became POWs, 1 was able to evade. MACR 6941. E&E report 1870.
