Archie Robey Flew with 495FTG 552FS marked DQ-K Collided with P-47 42-7974 during formation training excersise whilst being flown by Lt Dallas J Clary. Aircraft crashed at Ellerdine, Shropshire after Lt Clary succesfully bailed out at approx 4,000 ft after being knocked unconscious in the initial impact at approx 11,000 ft. Aircraft struck off charge, 2n Lt Maxwell flying 42-7974 was killed.
